Individual Adult Counselling
Julie DeRose is a Registered Psychologist and a former Certified Canadian Counsellor. She offers individual, couple, and family counselling to clients aged 5 years and older, offering both virtual and in-person sessions to Edmonton and area (virtual in Alberta). Julie is compassionate, caring, and treats all clients with dignity and respect. Her practice is grounded in authenticity and genuineness. Julie strives to make clients feel comfortable and safe by learning about the unique aspects of each individual while offering strategies/interventions that meet the needs of the presenting concerns. Julie takes the time to learn about those she works with and is honoured for you to share your story with her.
Child, Youth, Teen Therapy
These sessions are for individuals under the age of 18. Sessions are either virtual or in-person, for 50 or 80 minute time slots. During these sessions, time is spent to build rapport, work on strategies, discuss life stressors, and other dynamics impacting the individual.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling can be either in-person or on-line. For the first few appointments, sessions will focus on learning about the couple and at times, individual sessions may be recommended to learn about each person and how they function in the relationship. Sessions are either 50 or 80-minutes, however, when working with couples, the 80-minute time period seems to be more beneficial as more can be discussed and worked on during our time together.
Family Therapy
Family therapy can be book as either a 50 or 80-minute session. It is recommended that all family therapy occurs in-person and that each family member attends each session. It may be beneficial to book the 80-minute time slot for family therapy to allow for deeper and more meaningful conversation.
Presentations/Professional Development/Workshops
You can book Julie for presentations, workshops, or professional development. Julie has a background in education and was a teacher/school counsellor for 17 years. She enjoys presenting to all age groups, children, youth, adults, and seniors, regarding mental health and strategies. Contact Julie for more information and she will be happy to tailor a presentation to the needs of the organization.
